Rail Traffic Control System – FEPSA

This system included several modules, including the mobile display and tracking module, track usage authorization (AUV), mechanics, queries, a business module and an interface with the current operating system (SOI)

The project consisted in providing mobile track with two-way data communication with the Train Control Center (CCT). This includes the installation on all track mobiles of a positioning device (GPS), a transmission module (GPRS and satellite) and a control panel for the drivers; and the development of the Traffic Control System (SCT) which includes real-time viewing of mobiles, the management of Via Authorizations (AUV) and communication between the CCT and mobile.

The SCT is divided into modules, including:

  • “Control” module: for control operators in the Traffic sector
  • “Mechanical” module: for analysts in the Mechanical sector
  • “Consultations” module: for multiple users
  • Module “Commercial”: intended for the Commercial sector, located in Buenos Aires City.
  • Interface with SOI: intended to exchange information with the current operating system.

The project is divided into 4 stages, comprising:

  • Positioning: including the survey of the FEPSA rail network and other dealers, the development of positioning and visualization software in a schematic model, the provision of the on-board hardware, the generation of manuals, training and the generation of documentation to be submitted to the CNRT to obtain approval from the AUV system.
  • Commercial: including software development, manual generation, and user training.
  • AUVSystem: includes the development of the new system that completely replaces the current one, integrates tracking information, allows simultaneous operation of several control operators, generates alarms corresponding to AUV breaches and displays the information in a mimic model. It also includes the generation of the corresponding manuals and the training of control operators
  • AUV for Locomotive Data: This stage includes the provision of the control panel for drivers, the development of software necessary for sending AUVs and related information over a data channel, the generation of the corresponding manuals and training to drivers and control operators.
  • AUV for data and other mobiles: it is stablished the provision of hardware for the mobiles of via and work and the training to the corresponding operators.
