Corporate Geographic Information System of MetroRED

Client:

The project consisted of the provision of high-precision mapping and the development of cartographic information exploitation applications.

Urban mapping of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area was provided with an accuracy of 0.5 meters.

This mapping has the following attributes of:

  • Municipal Line
  • Street name
  • Height ranges, with even and odd side identification
  • Lace line
  • Census radius (population, composition by age and gender, type of housing)

On the mapping provided was carried out a process of georeferencing the customers and commercial prospects of MetroRED, as well as the laying of the installed own fiber network.

Applications were developed on a data server-based architecture in which all data is integrated and managed, a WebServer on which applications were mounted, and users accessing with a standard browser using MetroRED’s own Intranet, or over the Internet from anywhere.

This architecture allowed to propose a project with a modular implementation, flexible in terms of the base technology to be used, scalable in terms of future growth and high reuse of existing infrastructure.

Developed applications allow customers to be managed, updating their home data and updating georeferencing as well as performing analysis of installed capacity to provide services to commercial prospects. An interface with applications of the engineering area, allows to visualize on the map the loss of load of the fibers in its path being able to evaluate the quality of signal arrival to a certain point of the cartography.

Corporate GIS is also interrelated with the Customer Service System (CRM). Each incident recorded in the CRM takes the information from the street nomenclator and performs its georeferenced. A battery of reports allows statistical analysis of frequencies and zoning, as well as the issuance of thematic maps.
