Public Transport Management System – Posadas

Client:

Project Overview:

The project consists of developing a Public Transport Management System (SGTP) and setting up a Control Center to manage the quality of the Collective Public Transport (TPC) service in the city of Posadas. It is planned to provide the groups with a bi-directional communication by data with the Control Center by installing GPS and GPRS equipment. The system will enable local authorities to provide a TPC fleet control system to observe travel, speeds and frequencies; as well as gaining greater agility in incident response; and improve communication to the user of the TPC system with dynamic information devices.

Detail:

The system includes as its first objective the control and monitoring of the entire fleet of collectives, as well as an accurate estimate of the arrival times of the units at each stop of their route.

It included the assembly of the Control Center with provision and installation of the necessary computer equipment for the reception, processing and storage of the SGTP information.

It is planned to provide the groups with a bi-directional communication by data with the Control Center. This involves the installation of 100 groups of a positioning device (GPS), a transmission module (GPRS) and a dialog panel.

For communication to users of the arrival times of the collectives, it is included the installation of two Information Centers in Transfer Stations (CIET), the installation of Dynamic Information Posters (CID) in 10 stops, and a web consultation system.

Featured components:

SGTP(Public Transportation Management System)

  • Vehicle tracking
  • Support for Transit business logic
  • Automatic stretch analysis and stop fulfillment
  • Instant information at travel points
  • Instant information about selected units
  • Frequency reports and non-compliances
  • Interface GTFS – Global Transit Feed Specification

Dynamic Information Posters

The Public Information System consists of LED posters installed on the Bus Stops and Stations platforms, which allow the information to be displayed to the public from the Control Center. 10 posters are planned to be installed at the city’s most important stops.

These posters allow the issuance of messages, selectively or simultaneously, for the dissemination of information about schedules, incidents or informative messages about events, recommendations to users, time (date and time), advertising, etc.

Web Platform and Web Mobile

Within the framework of the tools available on the web, there is a functionality of querying bus arrivals at certain stops. It will allow you to search by line and branch, viewing on the map the route corresponding to the selected branch along with its stops. Selecting a stop will indicate the estimated time of arrival at that stop of the next two units of the selected branch along with the information of the other branches and lines that circulate through that stop.
