Development of the Rio de la Plata GIS System – AySA.

Client:

The main objective of the project was the implementation of a Geographic Information System that will link information related to the quality and hydrometeorology of the Río de la Plata and facilitate access to the information corresponding to Georeferenced Measurement Points, quickly, clearly and uniquely, allowing in turn to consult and analyze with different output formats.

The main challenge of the project was related to the integration of heterogeneous data from different sources, both internal (laboratory reports, remote sensor records) and external to the organization (information of the river level status of the basins of the Paraná, Uruguay and Silver rivers, coming from the services of Coast Guard of Argentina and climate information obtained from the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer radio) service published by NASA , those that are consulted using different web services.

Due to the characteristics of the information to be processed, the project required a complex metadata dictionary that would allow the encoding and formatting of the corresponding information to be related to the same object in the different records.

The implementation of this system allows the company to improve the analysis and decision-making, as well as the planning of the actions to be carried out under the conditions evaluated, such as Quality and Resource Control, Modeling, and Impact of Climate Change.

Technology Platform WEB application with “web responsive” and “multibrowser” interface, developed with “Microsoft .Net” technology “using “Entity Framework”, integrating database “Oracle 11g” with spatial capabilities, “Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server” and “Open Layers” for cartographic visualization and search engine “SolR”
